Think of this session as an invitation into your home - where we use YOUR home as the backdrop to create authentic memories in the most intimate, vulnerable space we spend most of our time raising children. Imagine the nostalgia you and your adult child will have looking back at an album filled with photos in some of your most lived-in spaces: their old nursery, the once cluttered living area, the bedroom they used to run to in the middle of the night. It doesn't get more sentimental than this.

You just know when something is close to your heart when it makes you want to get pregnant all over again (yes, I'm talking about myself). I absolutely LOVE photographing other mamas - most especially first-time parents! There's just something so special about those last moments before your littlest blessing comes along to rock your world. I know it because I have been there! I would love nothing more than to provide you with an experience that makes you feel empowered and beautiful in your new skin.

Michelle's approach
When you book a session with me, I do my very best to ensure a smooth experience from start to finish. I give mamas access to my growing Client Wardrobe, where mama can choose from a selection of carefully curated dresses intended to flatter her from maternity to postpartum and beyond. By providing this service, my hope is that I can check off one less thing on her (never-ending) list. This also allows her to save money on purchasing yet another dress that she most likely would only wear once for a photoshoot (guilty of this myself.)
During your session, I strive to document authentic moments. What this means for you, is that you won't be hearing "Say Cheese" the entire time. This is a good thing! It allows you and your family to be true to yourselves - to laugh and play, to kiss and hug, to chat and live in the moment.
I want this experience to be less stressful than it needs to be, and more fun for the whole family.

For maternity, ideally we schedule for when you are 28-32 weeks. Inquire early to ensure availability and to secure your date!
For lifestyle newborn, the earlier you schedule, the better! I only accept a limited amount of newborn sessions per month to ensure I have availability in the first month or so of your baby's life. We tentatively schedule the session for when baby is between 10-14 days old from your due date, and go from there. Just don't forget to reach out once baby arrives and we can adjust as needed.
Your lifestyle session includes immediate family only. This is to ensure we have ample time to focus on and celebrate the newest addition to the family with mom, dad, and siblings.
Think of this session as an invitation into your home - where we use YOUR home as the backdrop to create authentic memories in the most intimate, vulnerable space we spend most of our time raising children. We focus on capturing the connection between each member of the family, rather than traditional beanbag poses.
Don't love the aesthetics of your home, or feel more comfortable photographing elsewhere? No worries! There are beautiful studio options available as well.
I have preferred hair and make up artists that I can certainly recommend and vouch for! I always recommend mamas (especially freshly postpartum) to consider having their hair and make up done prior to their session. It's one of many ways I advocate for mama to pamper herself during what can be an exhausting time in those early newborn days. All mama has to do is show up, and the hair/make-up artists and I will take care of the rest!
